Red Fracture at The Cambridge Mayor's Celebration of the Arts

Hi All!

It's time for an update!

Every year in Cambridge, Ontario, the city holds The Mayor's Celebration of the Arts, a  gathering of musicians, performers, artists, authors and makers, with market booths, live shows, food vendors and of course an art show. This is where I come in :)

I apply to it almost every year and every year I have a selection of pieces that make it into the show. It surprises me and doesn't at the same time because, usually, the work that I'm showing beside is fairly traditional in its subject matter; landscapes, still-lifes, portraiture and the like. But on the other hand (not to sound immodest) I'm fairly well accomplished so how could they say no? ;)

Any who, here's a preview of the works I'll have in the show.

"The Truth About Cats and Pumpkins: Purr", Acrylic and Pencils on Paper

"The Truth About Cats and Pumpkins: Head-butt of Love", Acrylic and Pencils on Paper

"The Truth About Cats and Pumpkins: The Imposter", Acrylic and Pencils on Paper

"The Truth About Cats and Pumpkins: The Weight of Love", Acrylic and Pencils on Paper

These four pieces will be matted, framed and on display with about 100 other pieces at Cambridge City hall, 50 Dickson Street, Cambridge, Ontario. The show goes up on Friday, June 14th and will be up for two weeks. Although I've had to take them down from my website at the moment, they'll be available for purchase at the show. They retail for $195 apiece.

It's completely free, open to the public and a great time for kids. Bring the whole family and check out the show :)

When I make it down, I'll take some photos for those of you who won't be able to make it; updates to come...

For now, that is all.

Rockin!
