My latest and greatest :) This piece was inspired by the work previous to it, Wasp of the Flesh. I was so happy with the look of the amorphous, orange blobs in Wasp that I just had to explore them again. That led to orange "juice", combined with my love of cats and I quickly came to "marmalade cat", another name for an orange tabby. So...tigers are orange. After that, the piece just needed some action (enter a butterly) and voila!
I've gotten quite a few compliments on this piece. One friend said it had all the elements in a painting that she loves; a tiger, a butterfly and fruit. Go figure!
Painted with airbrushed acrylics on illustration board, Marmalade Cat Attack is 12" x 12" and available for purchase today :) Every cat needs a good home :)
