These paintings grace the front and back covers of the Goblin album, Four of a Kind. Goblin rose to fame in the 70's and 80's by writing soundtracks to some of the most memorable zombie films ever created, most notably, George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead.
I met Maurizio Guarini, the keyboardist from Goblin, at Shock Stock horror con in London, Ontario. We got to talking and it turned out they needed artwork for their new album. It was like it was meant to be :)
The title of the album refers to the number of band members involved in the project, four, not five and the theme was that the band were all seen as Kings...in hell! The front cover shows the Devil's point of view and the back cover shows the Beast himself!
These paintings are a real collectors item for the super fan of obscure horror and they come as a matched set. Both are acrylic on canvas, 16" x 16" square on double thick canvas stretchers. They are wired and ready to hang.
