Apart from the unusual title, this is one of the more sedate pieces that I created back when I exclusively used brushes and canvas. It is one of only two that I have left which explore the concept of the purity of eggs, how they are the beginning of life, and all the awful things that should not be inside them.
In this instance, there is nothing in these eggs, which makes them hollow and unable to function as they are designed; lifeless. They hang in a gentle circle with a spot light shining at their center giving a dynamic layout all the while highlighting their lack of opportunity to fulfill their goal. There are 13 of them, because I like the numbers connection to bad luck.
Great for the person in your life who likes surreal concepts but doesn't enjoy all the weird imagery that usually comes with it :)
Things That Should Not Be Inside Eggs: Nothing (1) is an acrylic on canvas painting, 24" x 9" on a double thick canvas stretch. It is wired and ready to hang.
